TELECOMWORLDWIRE-August 23, 2010-Informatica PowerCenter implemented by Asian Paint(C)1994-2010 M2 COMMUNICATIONS

Data integration software provider Informatica Corporation (Nasdaq:INFA) announced on Monday that Indian paint manufacturer Asian Paints has implemented Informatica PowerCenter to create a highly available, unified product costing system.

No financial details were disclosed.

According to the company, the Informatica Platform has enabled Asian Paints to reduce the time required to run its costing model from 24 hours to 20 minutes, nearly a 99% reduction in time.

The Informatica solution delivers a consistent view of costing data across disparate systems, increases productivity and opportunities for analytic insight, lowers operating costs since business-critical data is now integrated and simplifies decision-making around ingredients and formulas by enabling the setting of varied alternatives across products and production facilities, said Informatica.

The solution replaced legacy standalone pricing system that was subject to costly manual intervention and opportunities for error.

The new product costing system is the latest part of a larger deployment of the Informatica Platform at Asian Paints, which has standardised on Informatica for data integration enterprise-wide, the company said.
