Info. Min. reiterates Kuwait's rejection of insult against Saudi Arabia, GCC members.

RIYADH, March 8 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah on Tuesday reaffirmed Kuwait's total rejection of any insult to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Speaking to reporters following participation in the 24th meeting of the GCC information ministers, the minister warned that anyone who may allow himself to insult GCC member countries would face legal action. "This matter (insult) cannot be condoned since it is pertinent to international relations in general and relations with brotherly GCC countries in particular," he said. He quoted the Kuwaiti government, represented by First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah as having vowed to take necessary measures against those involved in insulting GCC countries. On the meeting, which concluded in Riyadh earlier today, the Kuwaiti minister said Gulf media should play a more effective role in light of the current critical and sensitive circumstances in the Arab region. He added that the ministers had discussed the current situation in Yemen and the role of the Saudi-led operation aiming to support legitimacy and stability there. (end)
