Industry award SHOWSWELSH pork can be a'world-beater'.

PORK producers from Swansea were as happy as pigs in muck after collecting a Food & Farming Industry Award.

Ruth and Andrew Davies were Highly Commended for their range of charcuterie products derived from their Saddleback and Gloucestershire Old Spot pigs.

|They originally moved to Cwm Farm, Rhydyfro, in 2010 with the intention of producing their own pork and sausages.

"However so positive was the feedback from friends and family, we decided to expand our production," said Ruth.

That led to the setting up of Cwm Farm Charcuterie - and a trip to Denmark to learn more about making salami and cured meats.

They now produce three varieties of salami - laverbread, traditional paprika and Moroccan spice.

Cwm Farm Charcuterie is featured on the Porc.Wales website run by Hybu Cig Cymru (HCC).

"This award shows the pork industry in Wales competes with anyone in the world on quality and product innovation," said HCC's Kirstie Jones.
