Since publication of the first edition of this book in 1960, the title has become the standard reference book in the Italian language covering all aspects of corn, from the cereal grain, through harvesting, milling and uses, including the scientific and technical aspects.

There are forty-seven Chapters and some of the these give an insight into the completeness of the text in covering the subject in great detail, viz. Humidity, Temperature and Fire; Theory of Drying; Moisture Control in Drying; Corn Oil: Chemical Analysis of Corn Flour; Pasta from Corn. Several Chapters deal with the use of corn in feeding, cows, pigs, poultry and again the different milling techniques are each covered by individual Chapters. Whisky, Vodka and Gin produced from corn, using the very latest fermentation processes. The book is copiously illustrated with photographs and diagrams.
