Indie rockers getting their Teenage kicks at city festival.

AFTER months of planning the 20th Cathedral Arts Festival finally got under way in Belfast last night.

And it was Scottish indie band Teenage Fanclub who got the party started at the marquee in Custom House Square.

Now at a stage in their careers where they can be included in the veteran bracket, the band showed all the stagecraft you might expect from a group that has spent 31 years playing live.

After the recent upheaval of personnel changes, the group were in fine form as they sparkled through a set which included favourites such as I'm In Love, The Concept, Your Love Is The Place I Come From and Everything Is Falling Apart, About You and Start Again.

The atmosphere was electric throughout and the band almost lifted the roof as they broke into A Catholic Education from their seminal 1990 album of the same title.
