Indie images in pen and pixels.

The Raritan Valley Community College Art Gallery in North Branch, N.J., recently presented an "Independent Study Student Art Exhibition," featuring artwork by 16 students who took part in independent study programs at the college in 2004. Above, below and bottom right are three offerings from Yen Chong, a Hillsborough student training in video animation under RVCC Instructor Bonnie Thornborough.

Maryland's Montgomery College recently showcased the work of 40 artists from around the nation in its new exhibit, "Drawing National 2," at the Rockville Campus Art Gallery. The show marks the second time the gallery has held a juried drawing exhibit; the first was in 2001. The exhibit featured one work from each of the chosen artists. They wore selected for their powerful content, execution or working process. At left is artist Scott Brooks' drawing, "Goat Girl."
