Indian expat finds snake on car bonnet.

Summary: The snake had probably crawled underneath the hood to escape the scorching summer temperatures.

A morning routine drive to work turned thrilling for an Indian resident in Oman after he discovered a sneaky snake was giving him company.

Mohammed Iqbal, a long-term resident of the Sultanate, was driving to work around 8:30 am on Wednesday when he noticed a snake emerging from underneath his car bonnet. It had supposedly slithered into the bonnet to take refuge from the scorching heat and appeared after the engine started to heat up.

"My husband works for a power plant in Barka and he leaves for work around 7:45 am. At around 8:30 am, he saw this snake come out from underneath his bonnet. It must have crawled underneath the bonnet to escape the heat at night and our car was parked outside our house all night," Iqbal's wife Afiya was quoted as saying in Times of Oman .

The family lives near Mall of Muscat in Mabella and had shifted there only recently. "We live in Mabella which is developing quickly. Earlier this entire area was just desert so it is possible that there might have been many snake nests in these areas, before the development began," Iqbal's wife added.

She also urged people to check their cars before driving to look if any dangerous animals have sneaked inside.
