The Indian central bank said that it would not go ahead with asset quality reviews for Non-Banking Financial Firms (NBFCs).

Governor Shaktikant Das said that the central bank would not order an asset quality review and added that large NBFCs would not be allowed to fail.

More than 12,000 firms in the sector collectively control a quarter of India's credit market.
