India has converted Kashmir into a big jail.
Nayeem Ahmad Khan who was released on May 22 after an over three-month illegal detention by Indian police in a media interview said that the Kashmiri detainees were being subjected to massive torture in Indian jails.
According to detail the APHC leader said that a huge number of Kashmiri youth was lodged in different jails of Jammu and India besides the Valley under draconian Public Safety Act.
Nayeem Ahmad Khan said that the detainees were inhumanly treated and had no access to medical and other facilities.
He urged the international community to help resolve the Kashmir dispute so that miseries of Kashmiris could be brought to an end.
The Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party in a statement said that sizzling heat of summer had added to the miseries of incarcerated leaders including Masarrat Aalam Butt and Mushtaq-ul-Islam. The JKDFP Spokesman also termed the arrests of Moulvi Bashir Ahmad Bukhari, Bilal Ahmad Pala, Abdul Hamid Mir and Maqsood Ahmad Butt as unjustified. The party paid tribute to the Kashmiri youth from Pattan, Moulvi Hilal, who was martyred by Indian troops in Srinagar, this morning.
Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League Secretary General, Abdul Ahad Para in a statement in Srinagar expressed concern over authorities' failure to produce Hurriyet leader, Masarrat Aalam Butt before court in Baramulla. He termed the act as part of conspiracy to prolong his detention.
