India Orders Israeli EW Equipment.

India is said to have ordered approximately $200-million worth of military equipment from Israel, following a visit to Israel by India's national security advisor Brajesh Mishra. Included in the list of equipment sought are the Seacher unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), produced by Israel Aircraft Industries Ltd. (Haifa, Israel); the EL/M-2080 search, acquisition and fire-control radar, developed for Israel's Arrow anti-tactical-ballistic-missile program by Elta Electronics Industries Ltd. (Ashdod, Israel); and electronics suites for upgrades of the Indian Air Force's Su-30, MiG-27 and Jaguar aircraft, as well as India's Mi-35 helicopters.

Lt. Gen. Shaul Mofaz, the Israeli defense chief of staff, is expected to visit India soon, and these orders -- perhaps along with some others - may be confirmed then.
