India : STATE to pay Rs 93.58 lakh to GSRTC.

The state government is liable to pay Rs 93.58 lakh to the Ahmedabad arm of the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) as rent for dispatching buses for the various government functions.

The division had sent 580 buses in 2011, , which increased to 1207 in the election year 2012.

Responding to a question of Viramgam MLA Tejashriben Patel, Transport Minister Nitin Patel stated that 10 buses were provided for the Mata Yashodha award distribution ceremony in 2012, while 386 had been given for the Sadhbhavna mission, 115 for the Swami Vivekand Rogar Week, 675 for the Garib Kalyan Mela, 12 for the Sarpanch Samellan and nine for the gram panchayat training programme.

The minister further informed that a sum of Rs 50.26 lakh has been recovered for the Garib Kalyan Melas, while the Ahmedabad division has recovered Rs 2.49 lakh from the Government, for the other three programmes including Mata Yashodha award, Sarpanch Samellan and the gram Panchayat training programme

He added that the recovery process is underway.
