Passengers will be asked to pay a fare of at least Rs15 to travel up to 2km, when the city of Nagpur's major metro rail project kicks-off in 2018-19.

The commuters will have to pay a maximum fare of Rs39 to travel a distance between 18 and 21km.

But, the fare can change in case of changes in the project's plan or financial structure and delay in concluding the project.

The Maharashtra state government had granted in-principal approval to the fare while approving the project's financial structure on January 30, 2014.
