India,United States : BOEING expanded its ties with BHARAT FORGE with new titanium forging contract.

The Indian forging major Bharat Forge Ltd on Tuesday has secured a contract from Boeing for supplying titanium forgings for the B777X aircraft of the US-based aircraft manufacturer.

The value of the contract has not been disclosed.

The global giant has awarded the contract to Bharat Forge, as it fully understands the technical capability of the Pune-based company.

"They (Bharat Forge) have demonstrated not only a high level of technical expertise, but also an understanding of the need to meet market requirements for affordability," disclosed a Boeing statement quoting its India President Pratyush Kumar as saying.

As part of an earlier pact, Boeing secures titanium forged flap tracks for its Next Generation 737 aircraft from Bharat Forge.

The companies previously have also agreed a deal for supplying forgings for Boeing 737 Max aircraft scheduled to enter service in 2017, revealed the statement.

According to the statement, Bharat Forge, via a closed die forging procedure, will develop and make the titanium forgings, with plans to deliver the first pair to Boeing in the later part of this year.

The company is scheduled to ship another pair in early next year.

"This second contract is the result of our successful partnership with Boeing and brings to forefront our capabilities in precision manufacturing techniques to offer high end technology and value in the aerospace sector," revealed the statement quoting Bharat Forge ED Subodh Tandale as saying.

He has further said the Pune-headquartered company will be responsible for delivering vital wing parts for one of the most advanced jets of Boeing.

Boeing India has already pledged to add India into its international aerospace supply chain.

The company together with Bharat Forge is also keen to tap the full potential of 'Make in India' initiative of the Indian Government.

Boeing entered into the Indian market around 75 years ago. The American firm has forging contracts with the Asian, European, Russian and North America providers.
