India, Egypt create joint venture.

Asian satellite operator AsiaSat has partnered with Egypt Radio and Television Union (ERTU). ERTU will now use Indiabased AsiaSat 2 to telecast Nile News TV and radio broadcast channels El-Bernameg Al-Aam and El Quran El-Karim across 50 countries within AsiaSat 2's C-band footprint, in Transponder 1A and 3660 MHz Frequency, according to AsiaSat CEO Peter Jackson.

"ERTU is one of the leading Mideast public broadcasters and the Nile News and radio channels additions will bring viewers in this region more choice and information about Egypt and the Mideast," Jackson said.
