India's Sparklet eyes the Gulf.

SPARKLET Engineers Private Limited (SEPL), a Mumbai-based oil and gas upstream and downstream equipment design, fabrication and supply company, plans to increase its market share in the coming years.

"We have fast forwarded the growth of our company to tap the boom in the oil and gas industry. We intend to increase our market share in the coming years with our EPF packages and new products for the power sector," says R B Ghosh, chairman of SEPL.

SEPL, says Ghosh, is planning to enter markets of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait in the Gulf. "We are looking for technical partners to tap Opec markets and create new opportunities and make a combination of technical expertise to add to our competitiveness and commitment to time and quality. We are still a young organisation but we know we can touch the shores of these markets and take a confident stride ahead even if it is through collaborations."

Shukanto Ghosh, managing director and CEO, offers more details about the company's history and activities: "We started out as an import substitute manufacturer for exploration, later on developed indigenous wireline and pressure handling equipments.

Now, SEPL offers complete design for both process and mechanical fabrication, shop test, supply and site commissioning for equipments used for drilling services such as cementing, mud, well testing and wireline. On the processing side, equipments are successfully supplied for various early production facilities (EPFs), oil collection stations (OCS), gas gathering stations (GGS), fuel gas conditioning skids."

He continues: "We have evolved because we chose to get involved with our client's out-of-the-ordinary requirements at times and design and manufacture specifically to our customer's needs and satisfaction. This has helped us build a reputation second to none in catering to our customers to every extent possible."

The company is staffed today with a young team who execute each project with a passion to excel, he adds.

SEPL is equipped with machine shop and fabrication facilities covering the varying needs of projects. The project distribution in the facilities comes specific to products varying from U stamp vessels, skids, heat exchangers, steam generators, API (API pending) valves and high pressure piping.

A family-run business from modest backgrounds, the company's oil and gas division was launched in 2002 by chairman R B Ghosh, a self-motivated technocrat. He says: "I am proud that we have today as a team reached these heights of success.

We have a harmonious combination of man, machine and systems; I am conservative by nature and never dreamt that my company would achieve so much in such a small span of time.

I am confident that Sparklet's team will continue to adapt to industry changes and excel with the core commitment of always offering the best quality and service." Shukanto adds: "Our company's growth plans have been encouraged by repeat orders from clients, thanks to our consistent commitment towards good service to the industry.

We are thrilled to be a part of this boom, there is so much of work and enthusiasm everywhere -- the expansion of Sparklet today is not a choice anymore but a bounden duty."
