LONDONERS and tourists will be aware of the long-running Poems on the Underground series, which gives commuters the chance to ponder brief and often abstract verse while suffering asphyxiation by crushing.

And after his Blackpool team received three red cards in a 1-0 defeat at Yeovil, Paul Ince did not just give a press conference - he gave us, word for word, a perfect poem for the Underground.
