The Arnold Palmer Driving Range and Putting Course is under new ownership following a foreclosure sale of $320,000.

The buyer is Golfworld Inc., composed of Proffitt Enterprises Inc. and RCF Corp. The men behind these two corporations are Gene Proffitt of Little Rock and Bob Fain, owner of Bonanza restaurants in Forrest City and West Memphis.

"We're just trying to fix it up and sell some golf balls," says Fain, who has been affiliated with the facility forever in his estimation.

The 20-acre development includes a pro shop, driving range, two miniature golf courses and practice green. Work is beginning on an enclosed area for driving practice in cold weather. It will shelter golfers from the wind and have heating as well. The miniature courses are slated for renovation next year.
