In the Presence of the Wise and Gentle Christ.

In the Presence of the Wise and Gentle Christ, by Fr. James McNamara (Paulist, 156 pages, $9.95 paperback) is an invitation to come to the truth about ourselves.

In part one, the author invites the reader to find him or her self in the presence of the persons in the gospels who come into the presence of the wise and gentle Christ, to discover the truth about yourself just as they did. Part two is a look at a saint for our time: St. Francis of Assisi, who lived the wisdom and gentleness of Christ.

This book is an interesting look at contemporary spirituality and may provoke readers both to prayer and gentleness.
