Byline: By Tony Deeley

A WOMAN has appeared in court charged with causing the death of a special needs nurse in a car collision.

Sheree Atkinson, aged 26, of Malvern View Road, Dudley, appeared before town magistrates in connection with the death of Francesca Guy.

She is charged with causing the 22-year-old nurse's death by dangerous driving in Himley Road, Dudley, on September 8 last year.

Francesca, of Sunnybank Road, Upper Gornal, a former award-winning pupil of Bishop Milner School, was employed by independent care company Lifeways.

Following her death her parents, Anita and Mick Guy, set up the Francesca Guy's Helping Hands charity in her memory to raise money for mentally handicapped adults.

Atkinson was bailed by the court until May 28 and the case committed to Wolverhampton Crown Court.
