In Yonkers, Phase II announced for mixed-use waterfront project.

Yonkers Waterfront Associates, builders of Pierpointe-on-the-Hudson, announced detailed plans for Phase II, the heart of the mixed-used real estate development on the city's waterfront.

At a press conference at their on-site sales pavilion at the foot of Main Street, developers Norwood Campbell and Alex Shapiro reported that construction of Phase II should begin in October. Campbell and Shapiro were joined today by Yonkers Mayor Terence Zaleski and other elected and appointed officials.

The developers also unveiled their just-completed Phase II prototype model apartment, a 1,000-square-foot, two-bedroom, two-bath condominium residence.

Anticipated in Spring 1994, Phase Ii will contain everything necessary for a complete, waterfront lifestyle, including a new 115-residence high-rise, a parking garage for 300 cars, restaurant, health club and retail shops.

Eventually, Pierpointe-on-the-Hudson will contain 1,850 housing units in its seven-phase development plan. There will be ample parking, more than 100,000 square feet of commercial development and restored historic structures including Yonkers' famous Recreation Pier and landmark-quality Downtown Trolley Barn.

The announcement follows a special lottery drawing recently in which Mayor Zaleski and other city housing officials drew the names of 52 Yonkers residents and city employees who each won a $30,000 credit toward the purchase of an existing, brand new condominium at Scrimshaw House, Pierpointe-Pier-pointe-on-the Hudson's completed market-rate condominium building.
