Galfar wins $1.9m work
MUSCAT: Oman-based Galfar Engineering and Contracting said it has won a contract worth RO753,000 ($1.95 million) for a pipeline project from India-based Punj Lloyd.
Punj Lloyd is an engineering, procurement, and construction contracting specialist listed on National Stock Exchange of India (NSE). The company has implemented significant projects in the Middle East.
The scope of work includes covering the erection and installation of 14-inch (35.5 cm) block valve station (BVS) pipe for the Fahud-Sohar pipelines natural gas liquid (NGL) component, Galfar said in a statement.
The project is likely to be completed by mid-May.
The Fahud-Sohar pipeline is part of a contract won from Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Co (Orpic) and Oman Gas Company (OGC), said the statement from Punj Lloyd.-TradeAra
Saudi Arabia to float tenders
RIYADH: Saudi Arabia is set to float tenders for the construction of a 600 megawatt (MW) solar power project in the city of Makkah in bid to cater to the increasing demand for electricity and clean energy from a booming population.This comes as part of the kingdom's wider plan to build a 2,600 MW project in the Saudi city, said a statement from the Saudi energy ministry.
