Imran Khan cannot come into power through backdoor: Shahbaz.

LAHORE -- Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday said that despite his all-out efforts, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan cannot come into power through backdoor.

In a statement, the Chief Minister said, 'From the tenure of General Pervaiz Musharraf till today, Imran Khan has always relied upon artificial supports. Instead of doing so, wish he would have relied upon the democratic process and the people.'

Shahbaz Sharif said, 'The nature had granted unique opportunity to Imran Khan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), but he has proved with his not- worthwhile performance in all the sectors of life that public service is beyond their capacity whose politics totally depends on conspiracies, lies, accusations and abuses.'

He said, 'This time, all the expectations of Imran Khan depend upon such a document based on Joint Investigation Team (JIT) Report whose contents are masterpiece of contradictions and it has become controversial even before it's made public.'

He said, 'Imran Khan has threatened to file reference against me in the court. I would wait for this reference and I am quite sure that Niazi Sahib will use the same excuses to avoid appearing before the court after this reference as he has already set the biggest record in the court history of Pakistan.'

Shahbaz Sharif said, 'Imran Khan's accusation against me is not a new thing. He has already leveled many such baseless and false allegations and I have filed a lawsuit worth ten billion rupees for such a slanderous statement against him.'

The Chief Minister said, 'This man has announced in a speech during the public meeting of March 23, 2013 in Lahore that he will not lie again. But it is regrettable that this announcement proved another lie and if lies and name-calling are excluded from the politics of Imran Khan today, then there would be nothing left in it.'
