Import of over 100 items allowed through land route from India: Official.

ISLAMABAD, 07 April , 2009 (Balochistan Times) -- Import of over 100 items has been allowed from India through land route (Wahga border), said an official of the Ministry of Commerce. There are a total of 6575 items on custom tariff import list from India out of which import of 1940 items are allowed, he told reporter while commenting on a news item appeared in a section of the press on Monday. In case of shortage of any commodity, Pakistani importers can approach the Ministry of Commerce for the import of that particular item through the land route. The Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet has already given approval in its last meeting in this regard, he said.
