Impaled Existence head to Download; NEWS.

Impaled Existence : Download Festival, Doninton Park, June 8 PROGRESSIVE death metal five-some, Impaled Existence have secured a slot at this year's Download Festival.

Following on last year's appearance at the Bloodstock Festival - headlined by Motorhead - the group shrugged off hard competition from several bands to win the King of the Stage in Satan''s Hollow, Manchester.

Their prize will be to open up on the Pepsi Max stage at this year's Download at Donington Park, on June 8. Other acts on the bill include Metallica and Black Sabbath. Now in its tenth year, the event is one of the largest of its kind in Europe.

Audiences of around 120,000 are expected over the three days.

Formed in 2004, the heart-warmingly named Impaled Existence went through a number of changes before settling on the current line up who have been together since 2009.

The rockers are regulars on the North Wales live circuit, but over the last couple of years have been playing gigs as far afield as Birmingham , Derby and Nottingham.

This autumn sees them take on their first British tour with gigs in London, Glasgow and Leeds to support their latest EP These Lifeless Plains.
