The U.S. Army has developed a comprehensive plan to deflect criticism of the School of the Americas, now known as the Western
Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation, reports the National
Catholic Reporter. Internal documents reveal the military spent nearly
$250,000 to track media coverage of the school, to create letters to the
editor to counter negative views, and to track the comings and goings of
Father Roy Bourgeois, who started the School of the Americas Watch fifteen years ago.
