Imad restored as president Kohat Bar Association.

KOHAT -- The Pakistan Bar Council has restored Malik Imad Azam Advocate as president of District Bar Association Kohat. Peshawar High Court (PHC) also suspended the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council (KPBC) decision about re-polling on the slot of Kohat District Bar Association's president. Malik Imad Azam is the youngest president in the history of the district bar associations in the country.
A two-member bench comprising Justice Irshad Qaiser and Justice Qalandar Ali Khan also restored Malik Imad Azam as the elected president of Kohat Bar Association till the next order of the court. The Pakistan Bar Council has ammended Rule 175H of the Pakistan Legal Practitioners and Bar Councils Rules, 1976 whereby the length of practice as an Advocate for contesting election for the office of President of District Bar Association has been reduced from 15 years to 10 years.
So According to Order of Pakistan Bar Council the Imad Azam Advocate was enroled as an Advocate of lower courts since 2005 and possesses the requisite qualifying length of practice as prescribed under the Rules as ammended he may continue to hold the office of president, District Bar Association Kohat till the time next election of the District Bar Association becomes due under the Rules.
