If you're a poet, time to show it.

The search is on for Tees poetry champions as United Press is looking for the top poet from every town in the country to feature in a National Poetry Anthology. An overall winner will receive pounds 1,000.

Last year Jim Wallace, from Hartlepool, and Simon Honeysett, from Middlesbrough, had their poems published. People should send three unpublished poems of up to 20 lines/160 words to United Press Ltd, Admail 3735, London, EC1B 1JB, before June 30. For more details visit www.unitedpress.co.uk

Cool to be green

CHILDREN and art students are being invited to enter a competition to design the exterior of a fridge freezer with an illustration expressing what being green means to them.
