Icelandair reports passenger numbers up in September 2005.


Iceland's FL Group hf, parent company of the airline Icelandair, reported on Friday (21 October) that Icelandair's passenger numbers had increased by 14.7% to 132,000 in September 2005, as compared to September 2004.

Capacity (ASK) increased by 15.5% and sales (RPK) by 19.8%, resulting in load factor of 79%, up 2.8 percentage points from September 2004.

In January-September 2005 Icelandair's passenger numbers increased by 14.5% to 1,216,879, compared with January-September 2004. Capacity had increased by 15.6% and load factor by 2.5 percentage points.

Air Iceland's domestic traffic increased by 6% in September 2005, and by 3.5% in the first nine months of the year.
