Ice Hockey: The Blaze organisation. Game On ice hockey.
WELCOME back everyone! I can honestly say that this week has been a busy one for everyone surrounding the Blaze organisation.
With hosting an extremely successful ladies night on Tuesday, and winning the semi-final in the Knock out cup against the Belfast Giants on Thursday, there hasn't been a moment to spare.
I once again enjoyed myself at the annual Ladies Night. But what was even more entertaining, was the look on some players' faces when they realised that there was really 260 women to entertain.
In the end it took a veteran player like Super Tommy Watkins to kick, or should I say whip the evening into shape.
In the end, I don't think anyone can argue that the well choreographed dance moves performed by Mr Barrie Moore to a little song called Foot Loose might have been the highlight of the evening.
Fortunately for myself, I have been honoured enough to view these illustrious dance moves for well over a decade now.
Somehow they still seem to bring me to knees in laughter.
When Barrie was asked the next day about releasing his routine for everyone to see, he humbly replied "I would do anything for charity, that's the kind of guy I am". (Ya, like he didn't enjoy it!)
Anyways, on another note, I am quite pleased with our performance against Belfast on Thursday evening.
We have been battling injuries and fatigue lately but it didn't hold us back.
To be honest, I was a little scared when they scored the go ahead goal in the third period, but Hutchy pulled through and gave us the spirit we needed to grab the win.
We now head into our last weekend of the regular season with games against Newcastle and Sheffield.
With this in mind, I would like to congratulate Belfast on winning the league, they have put together an excellent run this year and have definitely been rewarded because of it.
Our play-off opponents have yet to be decided but I think we all know who they might be. On a final note I would also like to congratulate Tom Carlon on scoring his first Elite League Goal, he now has one more than Peasy.
Take care everyone, and we'll see you around the rink.
