Cardiff Devils 6 Hull Stingrays 1

CAPTAIN Brad Voth played for Cardiff Devils in their first Elite League ice hockey win of the season last night, a 6-1 triumph against Hull Stingrays at the Cardiff Bay rink..

Voth has landed a 12-match suspension from the League disciplinary committee following his clash with Sheffield Steelers' Randy Dagenais last weekend. He was given the go-ahead to play this weekend after lodging an appeal against his suspension.

Man of the match Derek Campbell scored twice against Stingrays with Mike Hartwick, Phil Hill, Mike Prpich and Jason Silverthorn netting one each.

Devils won all three periods, beating Hull 3-1, 1-0 and 2-0.

Tonight (Sunday), Cardiff play Coventry Blaze away, while next weekend they are away to Basingstoke Bison on Saturday and then play the same opposition at their Cardiff Bay rink on Sunday (6pm).
