Ian Hyland's TV week: SUCH A SILLY BEGGAR.

Byline: Ian Hyland

DONNA Air reckons the secret of success is to make people think you're stupid.

Hence Donna In Need (E4, Sunday) in which she gave an excellent portrayal of a stupid person.

But then she was playing herself.

Oblivious to the fact that this was a really bad idea for a TV show, Donna went round Cardiff asking people to give her cash.

"I give out all the time myself," she said, unaware that the last time a young girl said that while asking for money in Cardiff she got nicked for soliciting.

This was an entirely pointless exercise as far as entertainment goes but it may help Donna in later life.

The skill with which she begged 10p from all those people at the bus stop convinced me that when her TV career ends -and that can only be matter of time now she's leaving the Big Breakfast - she won't go short for a cup of tea.
