IVAN G. LARSH NAMED PRESIDENT AND CEO OF ROTOREX, MANUFACTURER OF AIR CONDITIONER COMPRESSORS

BASKING RIDGE, N.J., Oct. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Ivan G. Larsh, who formerly was a top management and operations executive with Corning, Inc., has been appointed president and chief executive officer of Rotorex Company, Inc., it was announced on Thursday, Sept. 30.
Rotorex, located in Frederick, Md., produces compressors primarily for room air conditioner applications.
Larsh comes to Rotorex from Neles-Jamesbury, Inc., a Worcester, Mass., producer of industrial valves, where he was vice president of manufacturing from 1991 to 1993, following an 18-year career with Corning. Neles-Jamesbury, Inc. is a subsidiary of a private Finnish company.
At Corning, Larsh was director of operations for advanced display products, directing all of that division's manufacturing, research and development and operational growth worldwide. Prior to that, he was business manager for Corning's memory products, with full profit and loss responsibility for reporting units in the United States and Japan, and before that was business manager of the company's materials business.
Sal Giordano Jr., chief executive officer of NYCOR, Inc. (NASDAQ: NYCOA), Rotorex's parent company, commented that, with Larsh's "extensive management experience in manufacturing operations, both in the United States and the Far East, he is particularly well-qualified for his responsibilities at Rotorex, especially as it moves aggressively to capitalize on the growing international market." Global sourcing of products and components, international marketing and joint venture development were among Larsh's major responsibilities.
Early in his career with Corning, Larsh, a U.S. Naval Academy graduate and former F-4 Phantom jet pilot, served successively as manufacturing supervisor and plant supervisor for divisions involved in aerospace and military hardware, electronic materials and optical devices. He also had been plant manager for the production of medical optics and other precision optical wear, and sales and marketing manager for electronic and technical materials.
He received a B.S. degree in general engineering from Annapolis in 1968, and successfully completed the Executive Program in Business Administration at Columbia University in 1983.
He and his wife, Barbara, have three children, Christine, Kevin and Kenneth, and will relocated from Massachusetts to the Frederick area.
