IVA Highlights Israeli High-Tech Innovation at Israel TechNovation Conference in Singapore.

TEL AVIV, Israel -- The Israel Venture Association (IVA) is set to host a new venture capital event, the Israel TechNovation Conference, to take place at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Singapore on October 31st, 2006. Israel TechNovation will be part of Global Entrepolis Singapore 2006 (GES), the world's premiere business networking event, scheduled for the week of October 30, 2006.

The IVA - Israel TechNovation Conference will sponsor an Israel Day - the first time such an event has been held in Singapore - to highlight Israeli venture capital and high-tech companies. This is a unique opportunity to present the wide range of technological advancements, creativity and investment possibilities that Israel has to offer before international investors and companies. It will also be a clear demonstration of Israel's ability to overcome obstacles in times of conflict.

Scheduled to speak at the event, Yoram Oron, Chairman of the Board of the Israel Venture Association and Managing Partner of Vertex Venture Capital noted that the Israel TechNovation Conference in Singapore is the successful continuation of a series of IVA events focusing on Israeli high-tech investment that have already taken place in Shanghai, Beijing, Tokyo, New York, Santa Clara, Paris, London and Tel Aviv.

Other keynote speakers at the event include prominent industry figures like Shlomo Nechama, Chairman of the Board of Bank Hapoalim; Dr. Eli Opper, Chief Scientist of the Ministry of Industry, Trade & Labor, Israel; Retired General - Prof. Itzhak Ben-Israel, Chairman of Israel's Space Agency and Head of Security Studies at Tel Aviv University; Senior Executives from hi-tech incubators and VC Funds: Avi Zeevi, General Partner & Co-Founder, Carmel Ventures, Eli Barkat, Founder & Managing Director, BRM, Aaron Mankovsky, Managing Partner, Pitango Venture Capital, Amir Gal-or, Managing Partner, Infinity Venture Capital, Boaz Dinte, Managing Partner, Evergreen Venture Partners as well as mature companies listed on the NASDAQ like: ECI (NASDAQ:ECIL) and Verint (NASDAQ:VRNT); and start-up companies, Aminon, Actimize and Optimal Test.

Global Entrepolis Singapore 2006, sponsored by the Singapore Business Federation and the Singapore Economic Development Board, is a "free marketplace" that offers delegates, participants and exhibitors valuable opportunities to forge partnerships, secure funding, share expertise and network. To date, close to 50 countries will be represented at more than 40 business conferences that have been confirmed for GES 2006.

When asked about holding the TechNovation Conference in Singapore, Dr. Yehoshua (Shuki) Gleitman, Honorary Consul of Singapore in Israel said, "The conference presents an exceptional opportunity for potential investors, entrepreneurs and strategic partners to update themselves about what is happening in Israeli high-tech, venture capital and start-up companies. In Singapore and throughout Asia there is a great deal of interest in Israeli high-tech. Singaporean enterprises have been very active in the Israeli market over the past decade, investing in venture capital and creating joint ventures with Israeli companies. Singapore is also an important export market for Israeli technology."

According to the Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics, trade between Singapore and Israel in 2005 (including diamonds) was $696.2 million, of which $365.5 million were Israeli exports to Singapore and $330.7 million were imports to Israel from Singapore. This compares with $607.2 million in 2004, of which $361.7 million were exports and $245.6 were imports. In June 2006, the bilateral Singapore-Israel Industrial R&D Foundation (SIIRD) reported that the two countries cooperated in almost 60 R&D projects with a total research investment of $70 million.
