ITT SHERATON TAPS CANADIAN PACIFIC/DOUBLETREE EXECUTIVE AS MANAGING
 DIRECTOR OF TWO KEY ITT SHERATON NEW YORK HOTELS
 BOSTON, July 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Paul R. O'Neil, executive vice president of Canadian Pacific Hotels & Resorts and Doubletree Hotels, has been named managing director of the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers and the Sheraton Manhattan, effective Aug. 17, ITT Sheraton Corporation announced today.
 O'Neil, a former 18-year ITT Sheraton executive, will have overall responsibility for the two hotels which have just completed a $190 million renovation.
 "We are very pleased to welcome Paul back to ITT Sheraton to enhance the repositioning of these two flagship properties in New York," said John W. Herold, ITT Sheraton executive vice president, president-North American Operations.
 "Paul's broad operational experience within and beyond ITT Sheraton makes him pivotal to our global, national and local-market effort in New York," Herold added.
 O'Neil, as executive vice president of operations of Canadian Pacific Hotels & Resorts and Doubletree Hotels, is responsible for overseeing the operations of the chain's hotels in Canada and earlier served the same role for the chain's operations in the U.S. He also played an active role in Canadian Pacific's acquisition of the 58-hotel Doubletree/Compri chain in the United States.
 Beginning his career in the ITT Sheraton Management Development Program, O'Neil managed ITT Sheraton convention hotels in New York, Philadelphia, Honolulu and Detroit. He was also general manager of the 1,500-room Sheraton Washington Hotel and area manager for several ITT Sheraton properties in the middle-Atlantic states. His most recent position with the company was vice president, ITT Sheraton and director of operations-North America Division.
