 ITT SHERATON CORPORATION REPORTS PRELIMINARY ASSESSMENT OF DAMAGE
 FROM HURRICANE ANDREW TO NINE SHERATON PROPERTIES IN FLORIDA
 BOSTON, Mass., Aug. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Preliminary assessments of damage from Hurricane Andrew to the nine ITT Sheraton properties in the affected area of Florida show minor damage to two hotels, minimal damage to five hotels and two properties reporting no damage at this time.
 The Sheraton Bal Harbor, although in the heart of the affected area, experienced only minor damage. The area was evacuated yesterday at the direction of the State of Florida, and all of the hotel's guests have been relocated to other ITT Sheraton properties in Florida. The Sheraton Bal Harbour, which served as the Bal Harbour Police Department's Command Post during the emergency, sustained no structural damage, and electricity, air conditioning and telephone service are operational. The hotel reported some broken windows, debris in the lower lobby and landscape damage.
 Minor damage was also sustained at the Sheraton Royal Biscayne, which reported external and landscape damage.
 The Sheraton Suites Plantation, Sheraton Bricknell Point, Sheraton River House, Sheraton Yankee Clipper and Sheraton Yankee Trader reported minimal damage. Sheraton Harbor Place in Fort Myers and Sheraton Inn New Port Richey both reported no damage at this time.
