BOSTON, Jan. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Even though the first goal won't be scored until June, ITT Sheraton is already at the center of the soccer action for the 1994 FIFA World Cup as the Official Hotel Company for World Cup USA 1994. With 58 properties representing more than 20,000 guest rooms in the nine venues scheduled for the games, ITT Sheraton offers an upscale hotel, resort, all-suite or a mid-priced inn to meet the needs of soccer fans, players, and World Cup officials alike. Soccer fans can take advantage of these properties and save money at the same time by calling 1-800-STRIKER in the U.S. and Canada, a special toll-free number introduced by ITT Sheraton which offers reduced "Friends of Soccer/Football" rates at participating properties. Outside of North America, travelers should call their nearest ITT Sheraton Reservations Office.
"ITT Sheraton completed over a billion dollars worth of improvements in its North America properties in 1992, bringing these hotels up to the world class standards which the huge influx of international visitors to this country during the World Cup games will appreciate," said John Kapioltas, ITT Sheraton chairman and chief executive officer.
"These properties will host the wide range of guests attending the World Cup games, including dignitaries from the 24 team's countries, corporate sponsors, the World Cup Accommodations Bureau, World Cup Organizing Committee, worldwide media, incentive groups, World Cup teams, tour groups and individual soccer fans. These diverse groups can choose from the variety of ITT Sheraton products available in each of the nine venues, including our Luxury Collection of Hotels and Resorts, upscale hotels, resorts and all-suites and mid-priced inns, which in many cases are the closest properties to the training sites and stadiums," Kapioltas added.
