ITN TO AUTOMATE NORWAY'S TV2 USING ODETICS CART MACHINES
LONDON, May 21 /PRNewswire/ -- ITN, here, has purchased two Odetics

(AMEX: O.A, O.B) Cart Machines -- a TCS2000 and TCS90 -- and a News Control Terminal for an application at TV2 Norway. These are the sixth and seventh Odetics large library management systems purchased by ITN. Currently five Odetics Cart Machines play-to-air at ITN headquarters in London.
In the TV2 application, the Cart Machines, which are located in Bergen, Norway, are partially controlled by journalists located in a small studio in the capital city of Oslo. When filing a story, the journalists use their terminal to start the Cart Machine in Record Mode. The story is later played-out in Bergen using the News Control Terminal.
"We decided to purchase the Odetics Cart Machines based upon our experience with the company's equipment," explains Phil Marker, project manager for ITN. "We are convinced of the Cart Machine's ruggedness and are impressed by the inherent reliability of Odetics' robotics. In addition, the flexibility of Odetics software allows us to do things that other cart machines simply cannot."
Odetics manufactures products that provide information and control through automation. The company's Broadcast Division is credited with developing the first robotic large library management system for the television broadcast industry (1985), for which it received an Emmy Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in 1990.
