 ITEM PROCESSING OF AMERICA APPOINTS PRESIDENT
 OF MARKETING AND SALES DIVISION
 MIAMI, April 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Norman S. Edelcup, chairman and CEO of Item Processing of America, Inc. (IPA), has announced the appointment of Luis J. Ballina to the position of president of the newly formed Marketing & Sales division. Ballina was also elected a member of the board of directors and executive vice president of the company.
 Ballina's career expands over 27 years in the banking and bank data processing industry where he has held responsibilities in various senior management roles. His vast banking experience includes the areas of operations, lending, data processing, and marketing, as well as serving as CEO and founding director of a commercial bank in the Tampa Bay Area.
 In his new capacity, Ballina will focus on the expansion and growth of markets and products for the company. He will participate, as a member of the senior management team, with Edelcup and Robert L. Jackson, president and chief operating officer, to manage and guide IPA to continued success and profitability.
 IPA is a Miami-based corporation providing item processing and back office services to banks, thrifts and credit unions. IPA enjoys a reputation for excellence in service while enhancing the profits of its clients by reducing their operating cost and time consuming administrative functions.
