ITALIAN COURT GRANTS RESTRAINING ORDER AGAINST CREDIT LYONNAIS

ITALIAN COURT GRANTS RESTRAINING ORDER AGAINST CREDIT LYONNAIS
ROME, Nov. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- An Italian court yesterday granted a restraining order permitting leaseholders to enter their offices at Pathe Studios here, after representatives for Credit Lyonnais Bank Nederland, acting in apparent violation of Italian law, attempted to take control of the studio complex and blocked the companies from the premises.
The court granted the order after two attorneys and a private security force acting on behalf of the Dutch bank prevented any employees of leaseholders Emilviaggi S.a.r.l., GENAF S.a.r.l., CONTAMEL S.a.r.l., Pathe Media S.p.A. and Arvevi S.a.r.l. from entering the property on Nov. 5.
"Credit Lyonnais, in its continued vindictiveness against anything having to do with Giancarlo Paretti, has sought to throw out Pathe Italia from the studio, despite the protections afforded it under Italian law," said Maurizio Masuzzo, administrative director of Pathe Italia. "In their actions, the bank tried to prevent all the other companies operating in the studio from doing business and from having access to their files and records, even though each had valid rental agreements and were paying rent."
The court has set a Jan. 16, 1992, hearing date to fully examine the issue, according to Masuzzo.
