ITAK in a dilemma.
Colombo, Dec. 14 -- Ilankai Thamil Arasu Kadchci (ITAK) is in a dilemma, even after the final discussion in Colombo, to sort out seat allocations of the local government bodies.
Already the rank and file of the ITAK started leveling allegations against R. Sampanthan, leader of the opposition and Tamil National Alliance (TNA), Mavai Senathirajah, ITAK President, and also against M.A.Sumanthiran, Deputy Secretary General of ITAK, for relenting too much to TELO, as well as to PLOTE.
But in the meantime, though TELO was given an upper hand by relenting to many of their demands, however it seems the honeymoon did not last long.
The Mannar Urban Council chairmanship and a bigger role in the selections and elections were given to TELO, but suddenly ITAK has demanded that it should have a domineering role in the Mannar Urban Council's selection and elections.
As ITAK's Mannar region demanded a leading role in the Mannar Urban Council, a meeting was held in the ITAK office in Mannar to sort of this latest development. As the deadlocked prevailed, the discussion to bring about a settlement regarding Mannar UC failed.
Also, the PLOTE leader D.Siddarthan alleged that ITAK has 'cheated' them.
It was earlier decided that for the first two years the chairmanship of Vali West Pradesha is for PLOTE and the next two years for ITAK.
Suddenly, the ITAK has announced that they intend to take control of the Vali West Pradesha Sabah.
The latest stance of the ITAK was discussed yesterday at the ITAK office located in the Martin Road, Jaffna.
PLOTE failed to reach a consensus and later PLOTE leader alleged ITAK cheated them.
