IT news and products; Intel Software Network launches Manageability Developer Community.

Intel Software and Solutions Group, Intel Corporation's software division, recently announced a new on-line software developer community dedicated to manageability issues, complementing the developer communities for mobile computing and Multi-Core. Integrated into the on-line portal Intel Software Network the Manageability Developer Community provides resources, expertise and tools to enable developers to easily take advantage of Intel Active Management Technology (Intel AMT), a feature of Intel vProTM technology.

Intel AMT provides developers with an out-of-band channel to the system that is not related to the host software. Aimed at enabling software developers to fully capitalise on Intel AMT's capabilities, the community delivers comprehensive support for this technology's features, e.g. operating system (OS) independent diagnoses, non-volatile 3rd party memory, and integrated protection against malicious software attacks.

The Manageability Developer Community helps developers getting started on implementing Intel AMT use cases by providing a detailed reference source, as well as a platform for connecting and collaborating with Intel experts through blogs, FAQs regarding AMT, resourceful tips and tricks.

Comprehensive Insights into Mobility, Gaming, and Multi-Core

The Manageability Developer Community complements the already existing Intel Software Network communities for developers in the mobility and Multi-Core areas, which were launched in July 2006 and September 2006 respectively. The Mobile Developer Community supports software development for Intel Centrino Mobile Technology and Ultra Mobile PCs (UMPC). This community provides developers with a forum to converse with Intel's strategists, content experts and engineers and build mobile applications that take advantage of the unique benefits of Intel platforms.

The Multi-Core Developer Community provides expertise in multi-core technology to help developers create multi-threaded applications that meet performance and productivity expectations of customers. Areas of expertise include game development, digital media creation, and mobile applications development. Free download tools complete the communities' content and support.
