IT'S SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVERED DWARFS.

THE owner of a fancy dress shop today defended her macabre Hallowe'en window display featuring Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Cathy Fayal spent more than eight hours crafting the grotesque scene - in which the fairytale characters are beheaded and dismembered - at Bubbles And Bows, in Derby Lane, Old Swan.

She told the ECHO the attention it attracts is good for business.

But some shoppers have said it is a joke too far and unsuitable for young children to see.

Cathy, who has had the shop for 11 years, said: "Last year we did a display involving Father Christmas and there were a few complaints, so we toned it down a bit."

But Faye Sweeney, 25, who passed the store with her four-year-old son, said: "It was absolutely horrible. I got a really unpleasant shock.

"It frightened the living daylights out of my son."
