ISRAELI PRINTING COMPANIES TO HOLD SEMINAR IN PHILADELPHIA
PHILADLPHIA, June 18 /PRNewswire/ -- For the first time in the Delaware Valley, prominent Israeli graphic arts companies will be holding joint presentations, making it accessible for local business to gather information about ground-breaking innovations in the industry conveniently and inexpensively.
The seminar is titled "Finding a Profitable Competitive Edge in Graphics and Printing Through New Technologies," and is sponsored by the Philadelphia-Israel Chamber of Commerce (PICC).
The conference will take place Tuesday, June 30, from 12:30 to 5 p.m., at the University of Pennsylvania Faculty Club. The Israeli companies that will be represented are Scitex, Optrotech, Cybermedia, and Shira.
Scitex is an unchallenged world leader in the graphic arts and printing industries, and the other three companies are emerging leaders in the field. Each of these firms will be unveiling new products and equipment. This conference is designed to provide Delaware Valley businesses with a competitive edge by highlighting the latest Israeli innovations and projects in graphics, printing and publishing technologies.
Scitex, known for pioneering the application of digital image processing for color reproduction that revolutionized the pre-press phase of printing, will be introducing two new products, the Smart 720 and the Scitex Telepress. The 720 is an advanced scanning device, and the Telepress is a superior remote printing solution.
Optrotech, the first company to implement electronic imposition on an eight-page imagesetter, will be debuting a new extension to its SPrint imagesetting system, the SPrint 220. The SPrint 220 is the first SPrint system to offer greatly increased resolution and enhance color capabilities, and will enable users to shorten delivery times, reduce man-hours, and improve overall product quality.
Shira is known for being the first company to develop an interface to connect all the high-end CEPS and mid-range systems, and Cybermedia for integrating the most advanced full electronic digital photography studio.
"We are bringing these dynamic companies to Philadelphia to make it convenient for local business leaders to make the right connections and to learn of cutting-edge developments in this field. Israel has experienced unheralded success in the graphic arts industry, and we want to make their resources accessible to Delaware Valley businesses," said Daniel Herzka, chairman of the conference.
"This program will be invaluable to Delaware Valley companies of all kinds, using the graphics industry as a model for duplication. Israel offers a wide range of high-tech advantages which local companies will want to know about and take advantage of," said Robert A. Seltzer, PICC's executive director.
The Philadelphia-Israel Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization dedicated to the creation and strengthening of business relations among Delaware Valley and Israeli companies. The chamber's membership comprises 100 local companies either doing business in Israel or having clients who want to do business in Israel.
