ISPA Supra-Slik polymer coating for food handling equipment is announced

A thin film, extremely hard non-stick polymer coating for food handling equipment has been announced by the ISPA Co., of Baltimore, MD. Designated "Supra-Slik," this unique coating meets BISSC, FDA, and USDA requirements with high durability rating.

ISPA thin film non-stick polymer coatings are used for a wide variety of material handling applications to prevent powders, doughs and other ingredients from sticking to hoppers, feeders, conveyors, augers, chutes or rollers. They provide a low friction surface with excellent corrosion, abrasion and wear resistance.

"Supra-Slik" has a coefficient of friction of 0.13, and can be used over a temperature range from cryogenic to 550 degrees Fahrenheit. Its chemical inertness enables it to withstand a variety of aggressive substances that might be used for cleaning. "Supra-Slik" exhibits better abrasion resistance than most non-stick coatings, and its excellent anti-static properties add a measure of safety for applications where explosive materials must be handled.

"Supra-Slik" has received 3A Dairy approval, and has been successfully used in many food contact applications.

The ISPA Co. has been analyzing coating problems and applying a broad range of engineered finishes and coatings to commercial, industrial, architectural and military coatings for the past 20 years. In addition to "Supra-Slik" polymer, The ISPA Co. is a licensed applicator of Du Pont Teflon. It is also a leading applicator of thick-film fluoropolymers including the super hard Blue Armor[R], Fluoroshield[R], Halar[R] ECTFE, and Kynar[R] PVDF. The ISPA Co.'s 70,000-square foot coating facility includes equipment for conventional or electrostatic spray, fluidized bed, powder coating and installation of linings in tanks, pipe and fluid handling products.
