ISIL Militants Undergoing Pilot Training in Libya.
TEHRAN (FNA)- The ISIL Takfiri terrorists are currently undergoing passenger plane pilot training in the city of Cert in Central Libya, media reports said.
"The ISIL terrorists are using at least one flight simulator in Libya," the London-based Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper quoted an unnamed Libyan military source as saying on Wednesday.
The military source reiterated that the terrorists have purchased the flight simulator from abroad because it is a modern equipment and Libya's aviation industry under former dictator Moamar Qaddafi did not have such simulators.
The newspaper said that Libyan inspectors thought that the terrorists had stolen the simulator from the training departments of Qaddafi's airports, but the existing information shows that this is completely a brand-new equipment.
The flight simulator used by the terrorists is the size of a small car and it resembles pilot cockpits with all control systems and electronic devices for taking off and landing.
Meantime, Al-Sharq al-Awsat quoted an unnamed security official as saying that he has information that the ISIL militants are undergoing pilot training in Libya.
"The Libyan air force has raided the ISIL training centers in Libya several times during the last month, but to no avail," the security official, who is heading an investigation team probing into the ISIL's activities in Northern Africa, said.
In October 2014, the Iraqi pilots who had joined the ISIL in Syria were training members of the terrorist group to fly in three captured fighter jets, a monitoring group said at the time.
On October 17, 2015, the Russian warplanes bombed a training camp in Syria where foreign instructors trained potential suicide bombers, the Russian defense ministry said, and added the camp was one of 49 terrorist targets hit by the Russian Air Forces over the day.
"Not far from Salma in Lattakia province, a Su-24M bomber delivered a strike at a building, which was used as a terrorist training ground. According to intelligence, there were ISIL foreign instructors, who were training people, including suicide bombers, for guerrilla warfare in areas liberated by the Syrian army," Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov said.
He added that the facility had its own explosives workshop, which was also destroyed by an airstrike.
