IRVINE SENSORS SELECTED BY NASA FOR

 COSTA MESA, Calif., Feb. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Irvine Sensors Corp. (NASDAQ: IRSN) announced today that it has been notified by NASA and the Space Defense Initiative Office ("SDIO") of its selection for contracts totaling approximately $1.1 million. The new contracts will be awards under the Small Business Innovation Research ("SBIR") program. Details regarding the new awards were not released pending completion of contractual negotiations.
 James Alexiou, Irvine's chief executive officer, said at the firm's annual meeting today, "These contracts together with anticipated additional awards this year should allow us to resume our growth in the government business sector."
 Irvine Sensors, headquartered in Costa Mesa, is primarily engaged in the development of infrared devices and high-density packages of computer electronics which are intended to have broad applications in military and commercial systems.
