IRISH MAN OF THE PEOPLE : Let's pray for sad Charlie.

Byline: Stephen Maguire

I INTERVIEWED Charlie Boyle about the disappearance of his daughter Mary several times.

Although warm and friendly, his face always showed the strain of a man who was tortured by what happened to his little girl.

Time after time he had his hopes of finally finding Mary's body dashed.

But I never thought such tragedy would darken his door again before he was drowned while fishing off Donegal this week.

Why the Boyle family's torment turned to torture we'll probably never know.

We can only pray that Charlie is now at peace with the little girl he never got to see grow up into a young woman.
