IRAN RACKS UP NUKE FEAR.

Byline: By STEPHEN WHITE

FEARS were mounting yesterday that Iran plans to make nuclear weapons after it barred snap inspections of its nuclear facilities. There were protests in Tehran after the US warned it may take military action if Iraq president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad does not relent.

He said: "You can't prevent the progress of the Iranian nation. The era of coercion and domination has ended." US Senate member Bill Frist hit back: "We can't allow Iran to become nuclear nation...military use has to be on the table."

The clash came after Iran ended voluntary co-operation with the International Atomic Energy Agency.
