IRAN - June 10 - Leila Pahlavi Dies.

The body of Leila Pahlavi, 31, is found by the staff at the Leonard Hotel in west London. Her mother, former empress Farah Diba, issued a statement in Paris on June 11 saying that Ms. Pahlavi died in her sleep and that she had been "very depressed". A post-mortem examination failed to reveal the cause of death. Scotland Yard said the police had launched an investigation to the death. The Daily Telegraph reported that officers were investigating the possibility that Ms. Pahlavi took an overdose of sleeping pills. She was the youngest of the five children of Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi, and the fourth by his third wife, Farah Diba.
