IPL'S RATES LOWEST OF ALL INVESTOR-OWNED ELECTRICS IN INDIANA

 INDIANAPOLIS, July 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Indianapolis Power & Light Company (IPL) has the lowest residential rates of any investor-owned electric utility in Indiana according to the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission's annual statewide survey of electric rates.
 IPL's rates for 1000 kwh were $59.22 followed by PSI Energy at $61.41, Indiana Michigan Power at $61.84, Southern Indiana Gas & Electric Company at $69.20, West Harrison Gas & Electric Company (a subsidiary of Cincinnati Gas & Electric Company) at $74.38, and Northern Indiana Public Service Company at $97.31, the survey said.
 IPL's residential rates are more than ten dollars below the statewide average of $69.66, according to the IURC's survey. IPL is the electric utility subsidiary of IPALCO Enterprises, Inc.
 The IURC's survey is performed annually by the commission's engineering staff.
